Mulberry Silk | Theme: Tagore's Balaka
From time to time, we've presented our designs in various ways, integrating them with intellect, imagination, and art. Our latest design is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's poem, "Balaka," which focuses on the notion of mobility and dynamic consciousness. Throughout the poem, Tagore uses vivid imagery and symbolism to convey the beauty and complexity of nature and the interconnectedness of all living things. The poem also explores the themes of self-discovery, spirituality, and the search for meaning in life.
In this Mulberry Silk, we've portrayed the mobility of life through the hand-painted white cranes and flying birds, contrasting with the metallic-blue color background. There's a branch below the flying birds, which denotes the movement of the birds away from their home, as if, like us, those creatures are journeying toward an unknown future. Like Tagore's poem, our design also reflects the transient nature of life and the inevitability of change.
Like the vast ocean or the expansive sky, we haven't restricted the blue shade of the saree within the borders, justifying the theme. It has brought a distinctive elegance to its design.
As Tagore concluded in his poem, the true meaning of life lies in the experiences we make along the way; we hope to share a remarkable experience with you through this finest Mulberry Silk.
