The weaving technique is unique—extra weft threads are added manually to create the motifs, a painstaking process that can take months to complete.
West Bengal has embraced Jamdani weaving, incorporating regional influences to create distinct styles. The weaving hubs of Phulia and Shantipur have developed their own variations, blending traditional motifs with modern designs.
